Banteay Srei means "A Citadel of Women", and was built 100% by women.

Dedicated to the goddess Shiva, this place is also known as the Red Jewel of Angkor because of the red sandstone they used to build it back in the last half of the 10th century.

It is smaller than the main temples like Angkor Wat or Bayon, but its charming atmosphere and incredible carvings and statues in the heart of the temple, make it a peaceful place to visit. 🙏
